Below is just 4 simple most eye watering wildflower trails Avraa has put together for your travels from Busselton, remember to book your Avraa Campervan or Car/SUV and other accessories you may require in advance and also your accommodation as accommodation is sparse in some of these small towns we have listed, enjoy and Avraa Great Time!


1. Jarrahland Wildflowers Trail

Distance

740 kilometres, allow four to five days.

Locations

Jarrahdale, Collie, Pemberton, Manjimup, Bridgetown, Busselton and Bunbury.

Wildflower species

Queen of Sheba orchids, yellow buttercups, Swan River myrtles, white candles, banded greenhoods, sundews, pink fairies, rattle beaks and more.

Season

September to November

Embark on an exciting adventure from Busselton and make your way to Collie via the enchanting Shire of Serpentine and Jarrahdale! This picturesque destination is famous for its breathtaking Flora Roads, where you'll drive through mesmerizing tree tunnels adorned with vibrant flowering natives and wildflowers. Once you reach Collie, dive into the beauty of the Karak Red Trail, where wildflowers abound, and native kangaroo paws await your discovery.

Continue your journey to the delightful towns of Pemberton and Manjimup via Bridgetown. In Bridgetown, don't miss the chance to explore Southern Flora, a wildflower nursery where Erica, the passionate head conservationist, will guide you on an unforgettable wildflower walk. In Pemberton, uncover the magic of the Goblin Swamp, a local treasure for wildflower enthusiasts, featuring a five-kilometre trail that leads you past hare orchids, cowslips, and narrow-lipped hammers. Manjimup Heritage Park, spanning 10 hectares, boasts over 30 wildflower species, offering another fantastic spot for a leisurely stroll.

As you head back towards Busselton, stop by Mount Chudalup to marvel at the rare Queen of Sheba orchid. Busselton is a wildflower lover's paradise, with hotspots like the Ludlow Tuart Forest, Ambergate Reserve, Whicher Range, and Captain Baudin Reserve. On your return to Busselton, make sure to visit Yalgorup National Park, where you can spot enchanting fairy orchids, hoveas, and cockies tongues.




2. Wave Rock Wildflowers Trail

Distance

754 kilometres, allow three to four days.

Locations

York, Quairading, Bruce Rock, Narembeen, Hyden (Wave Rock), Kalgarin, Kondinin, Kulin and Corrigin.

Wildflower species

Isopogons, tinsel flowers, spider orchids, everlastings, hakeas, candy orchids, broom milkworts and more.

Season

August to October

Embark on an exciting journey in your Avraa Campervan travelling from York, a charming historic wheatbelt town renowned for its vibrant canola fields and the lively annual Garden Festival! Don't miss the York Bushland Garden, a paradise for Western Australian natives and home to a few rare flora species. Next, head to the Quairading Nature Reserve to marvel at more of the Wheatbelt’s stunning wildflowers, before continuing to Bruce Rock. Enjoy a thrilling wildflower drive through Bruce Rock, where you can admire the beautiful isopogons, tinsel flowers, and spider orchids.

Then, venture to Narembeen to discover sugar orchids, everlastings, and clown orchids in the surrounding reserves. Make your way to Hyden (Wave Rock) for some exhilarating wildflower walks. The popular Hippo’s Yawn loop takes you through bushland brimming with bottlebrush, hakeas, and a variety of orchid species.

On your return journey, pass through Kalgari and Kondinin, stopping at Yeerakine Rock to admire the enchanting pink candy orchids and broom milkworts. Continue to Kulin and explore the Hopkins Nature Reserve, a vital flora conservation area. As you head back, complete the Corrigin Wildflower Drive. This well-maintained gravel track offers breathtaking views of wildflowers, thickets, and shrubland, culminating in a stunning scenic lookout.





3. Granite Loop Wildflowers Trail

Distance

815 kilometres, allow four to five days.

Locations

Wongan Hills, Toodyay, Koorda, Beacon, Beringbooding, Elachbutting, Mukinbudin, Kununoppin and Wyalkatchem.

Wildflower species

Everlastings, donkey orchids, snail orchids, Koorda roses, yellow and pink verticordias, pink tea trees, native foxgloves, yellow hibbertia and more.

Season

September to November

Start your adventure in Busselton and make your way to the historic town of Toodyay! Choose an exhilarating wildflower walk in the Dawn Atwell Reserve, Rugged Hills Reserve, or Majestic Heights Reserve. Then, journey to Wongan Hills, a vibrant area boasting over 1,400 species of flowering plants, including 24 species found nowhere else on Earth!

Continue your trek east to Koorda, where you'll be dazzled by the everlastings, dampiera species, and the unique ‘Koorda roses’ that make this region famous. As you explore nature reserves along the way, head to Beacon and enjoy a delightful picnic at Billiburning Rock, where the adjoining reserve bursts into a spectacular display of wildflowers in the springtime.

Travel alongside magnificent granite outcrops and make your next thrilling stop at Elachbutting Rock near the area of Westonia. Here, you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery and wildflowers on a scenic walk trail. As you wind your way back along this majestic drive, don’t miss the Pioneer Botanical Walk in Mukinbudin, marvel at the nature reserves near Kununoppin, and keep an eye out for the rare native foxglove in the charming flower gardens of Wyalkatchem’s main street.


4. Everlastings Wildflowers Trail

Distance

990 kilometres, allow four to five days.

Locations

Coorow, Eneabba, Mullewa, Mingenew and New Norcia.

Wildflower species

Pink, yellow and white everlastings, pink and blue fairy orchids, fringe lillies, clown orchids, dryandras, wreath flowers and more.

Season

June to September

On your way to Coorow after exploring other wildflower trails, don't miss the chance to visit the magnificent Badgingarra National Park! The 1.5-kilometre Iain Wilson Nature Trail offers an incredible opportunity to admire the park’s stunning blooms up close. And if luck is on your side, you might even spot a kangaroo or two! As you continue north, the Coomallo Nature Reserve awaits, boasting over 200 wildflower species. Once you reach Coorow, the Coorow Farm Wildflower Trail is an absolute must-see. Just one kilometre from the town centre, this walk showcases a splendid array of everlastings, orchids, and native flowers.

Your next adventure is at the Lesueur National Park, one of the State's most important flora conservation reserves! This is a destination you simply cannot miss. Here, you'll discover a vibrant variety of orchids, leschenaultias, and hibbertias, all best appreciated on a scenic drive through the park. The nearby town of Eneabba is also famous for its breathtaking wildflower displays, especially within the stunning Tathra National Park.

Heading further inland, the Coalseam Conservation Park between Mingenew and Mullewa stands as one of the State’s most spectacular wildflower hotspots. In spring, the park transforms into a vibrant tapestry of white, pink, and yellow everlastings. Next, make a stop at the Udamung Brook Reserve, just south of the historic monastic town of New Norcia. Here, you can admire the striking pink flowers of the pincushion cone and several dryandras before heading back to Busselton.
